ABOUT VICTORIA ARTS CONNECTION

Victoria Dance Connection Founder Lisa Mellett and Co-Artistic Director, Constance Cooke announced the formation of the Victoria Arts Connection in September 2005. The Victoria Arts Connection is a non-profit society representing multimedia arts in Victoria, British Columbia.

Founding companies include Victoria Dance Connection, MediaNet, Out of the Box Productions, and Company Constance Cooke Dance. These arts organizations have a permanent home in the building. Other affiliated members include a number of independent artists and arts organizations including Red Hot Swing, The Dance For Camera Interest Group,The Industry Dance Group, Ballroom Dance, Tripod and Suddenly Dance Theatre among others.

The Victoria Arts Connection welcomes new members to join this exciting new center for the arts and the many amenities it provides. The Centre is complete with two spacious studios that convert into a large Studio/Theatre, a commercial kitchen suitable for catering small events as well as smaller studios, office space and a large executive boardroom. Lisa Mellett founder of the Victoria Dance Connection and now Executive Director of the Victoria Arts Connection for many years has had the vision of bringing together a community of diverse groups and multi-disciplinary artists under one roof. With the announcement of the V.A.C. this vision is now in full swing.

1. Create a Central Organization dedicated to the Promotion and Growth for the Individual arts and art groups.

2. Be a Resource Centre for Artistic Development.

3. Support the Creation and Production of Artistic Works.

4. Provide affordable Access to Creative Space.

5. Help individuals and arts organizations gain recognition.

6. Network and collaborate with other Groups and Organizations.

7. Facilitate opportunity to show case artists work, in the Studio/Theatre and Gallery.

8. Bring together the Artistic community of Victoria while representing the diversity of the arts in Victoria.
